Founded in 2018, Agro Ilam works to strengthen Nepal’s agricultural supply chain and move toward self-sufficiency. We’re built on partnerships with local farmers in Ilam—not just one individual.
We focus on empowering communities, especially youth, by forming small farmer groups and offering practical training in coffee, turmeric farming, and animal husbandry.
Ilam Arabica Coffee
Shaded by fruit trees and highly valued for its exceptional quality and sustainable cultivation, Ilam Arabica Coffee, is organically grown by 300 farmers in Ilam’s highlands.
Olan Ghee
Through our sister brand, Olan Agriculture, we prepare and package butter sourced from over 2,000 Dairy farmers in Ilam and market it as Olan Ghee.
Tumeric
Our premium quality Tumeric is rich in flavor and curcumin and is cultivated sustainably by local farmers in fertile the Himalayan soil of Ilam.

Meet the Founder, Mr. Yem Karki
Driven to create opportunities in his hometown of Gajurmukhi, Ilam, Mr. Yam Karki founded Agro Ilam in 2018 A.D. after witnessing many young people leaving for work abroad.
He began with Boer goat farming, importing goats from Africa and turning his village into a local hub for livestock farming. His success encouraged others to follow, boosting incomes across the community.
Recognizing the potential of goat manure, Mr. Karki explored coffee farming. After researching soil conditions, he found Arabica coffee to be ideal. He built a nursery, trained himself, and shared his knowledge with local farmers.
Starting in 2075 B.S. with 15 farmers, his coffee initiative has grown to include over 300 families, creating jobs and strengthening the local economy.
In 2022 A.D., Mr. Karki joined the Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship fellowship, gaining new skills to expand Agro Ilam’s impact even further.
